Will of Ann Lazenby of Scarbrough in the County of York, spinster
Dated 29.5.1778, 30.11.1779 & 10.10.1782, proved at London 10.2.1785.

The
last Will and Testament of Ann Lazenby of Scarbrough in the County of
York spinster being of sound and disposing mind and memory (for which I
praise Almighty God) trusting in salvation through the merits and
Intercession of my ever blessed Redeemer I do constitute and appoint my
neice Dorothy Butler sole Executrix of this my Will and do give devise
and bequeath unto her, her heirs Executors administrators and Assigns
for ever all my real Estate and also all my monies Securities for money
Goods Chattels and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever whereof I
shall die seized and possessed subject nevertheless to the payment of
my just Debts and Funerall Expences And also subject to the payment of
the following Legacies at the end of twelve months next after my
decease to the following persons that is to say
To my niece Isabel Butler one hundred pounds
to Leonard Lazenby Son of my deceased nephew Thomas Lazenby fifty pounds
to Mrs Sarah Lazenby his mother twenty pounds
To my Relation Mr William Prosser now of Scarbrough twenty pounds
and to Josiah Peele of Symonds Inn in the County of Middlesex Esquire ten pounds to buy a ring
and
lastly I do revoke all former wills Codicils and Testametary schedules
by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and Seal the twenty ninth day of May in the Year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and seventy eight Ann Lazenby

Whereas
I Ann Lazenby of Scarbrough in the County of York Spinster in and by my
last Will and Testament in writing bearing date the twenty ninth day of
May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy
eight have given and bequeathed unto Leonard Lazenby a legacy of fifty
pounds to be paid to him by my Executrix therein named at the end of
twelve months next after my decease Now I do by this present writing
(which I declare to be a codicil to my said last will and direct to be
added to and to be taken as part thereof) Give and bequeath unto the
said Leonard Lazenby other Fifty pounds over and above what I have
already given to him in and by my last Will and I order and direct the
said further Sum of Fifty pounds to be paid to him by my Executrix at
the end of twelve months next after my decease In Witness whereof I
have to this Codicil set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of
November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy
nine Ann Lazenby

Ann Lazenby of Scarbrough in the County of York Spinster do publish and
declare this a second codicil to my last Will and Testament and do
direct it to be added to and to be taken as part thereof And do hereby
give and bequeath unto the Reverend John Hewitson Officiating Minister
of Scarbrough aforesaid the sum of ten pounds as an acknowledgement for
his strict and kind attendances to me to be paid by my Executrix at the
time the other Legacies in my Will and Codicil are directed to be paid
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the tenth day
of October one thousand seven hundred and eighty two the mark of Ann

This
Will was proved at London with two codicils the tenth day of february
in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five
before the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws master keeper
or Commissary of the prerogative court of Canterbury lawfully
constituted by the oath of Dorothy Butler spinster the niece of the
deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom
administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and
credits of the said deceased having been first sworn by Commission duly
to administer
