The National Archives: PROB 31/401/134

Prerogative Court of Canterbury: Exhibits, Main Class. Exhibit: 1757/134. John Preswick of St George, Middlesex. Probate inventory, or declaration, of the estate of the same, deceased.

Comprising Comission of Appraisement, and resulting Inventory of the Estate of John Preswick.

It should be noted that, as indicated by the Commission of Appraisement, this inventory was compiled in January 1757, as a consequence of a dispute between John Preswick's widow, and two of his creditors. The catalogue entry for PROB 3/56/16 indicates that there is also a formal probate inventory produced by the widow in May 1757. In addition, there are a number of schedules of information (much, but by no means all, similar to that produced here) produced as part of Ann Preswick's answer in C 12/506/14.
