In the name of God Amen, The seventeenth Day
of December, and in the Year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred
and thirty three, I
Christopher Prissick of the Parish of Carlton in Cleveland
and in the County of York Husbandman, being sick in body but of good
and perfect memory thanks be to almighty God for the same, Do make
ordain & declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form
following, And first being penitent and sorry from the Bottom of my
heart for my Sins past, most humbly desiring forgiveness for the same,
I give and commit my Soul to Almighty God my Saviour and Redeemer in
whom and by the merits of Jesus Christ I trust and believe assuredly to
be saved, And my Body decently buried by my Executors hereinafter
mentioned, And for my Temporal Estate and such Goods, Chattels, Debts,
as it hath pleased God far above my deserts to bestow upon me, I do
order give and dispose the same in manner and form following (that
is)
First I give and bequeath unto my Son Christopher Prissick and his Heirs for ever my Upper House and Garth in Carlton adjoining on the Pin-fold, and the greater lower greens and the beck Close adjoining west side of the Beck, all the said three Closes aforesaid and House and Garth aforesaid being all now in the Possession of my Son Christopher Prissick aforesaid, He the said Christopher Prissick paying unto my Daughter his Sister Elizabeth Farefoot the Sum of one Pound ten shillings a year during her natural Life, to be paid every half Year fifteen shillings after my Death;
Also I give and bequeath unto my other two Sons John Prissick and William Prissick and their Heirs for Ever all the rest and residue of my Houses and Lands in Carlton aforesaid, they also my two Sons paying unto my Daughter Elizabeth Farefoot their Sister each of them one Pound ten shillings a Year to be paid by them every half Year fifteen shillings a piece after my Death during her natural life;
Item I give to my aforesaid Daughter Elizabeth Farefoot the Choice of a Cow immediately after my Death.
Item I give and bequeath unto Christopher Farefoot, Elizabeth Farefoot and John Farefoot, my Grandchildren each of them five Pounds to be paid them when they arrive at twenty one Years of Age by my Sons Christopher Prissick, John Prissick and William Prissick aforesaid out of my real Estate according to the Value of the Lands and Houses I in this Will have left them, And if it shall please God, that any one or two of my Grand Children shall depart this life before they arrive at twenty one Years of Age then my Will is that the surviving Grand Child or Grand Children aforesaid shall have his or her share divided equally betwixt them, unless my Sons aforesaid Christopher John and William Prissick shall think fit to lay out any of the said five Pounds for the use of my Grand Children aforesaid before they arrive at twenty one Years of Age, which I desire they Will if they see occasion,
Also I do make my Sons John Prissick and William Prissick
aforesaid joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament, they
paying my just Debts and funeral Charges, declaring this to be my last
Will and Testament, as witness my hand and Seal the Day and Year above
written
