In the name of God Amen: the twelth day of March 1686/7 in third
yeare of the king that nowe is ?....? I Thomas Preswick of Gisbrough
within the diocese of Yorke husbandman being weake and impotent in
boddy but of sound and perfect memory prais be given to God for the
same and knowing the uncertainty of this life on earth and being
desirous to settle things in order do make this my last Will and
Testament in manner and Forme Following: that is to say first and
principally I bequeath my soule to God my Creator Assuredly believing
that I shall have Full pardon and Free Remition of all my Sins and be
savid by the pretious death and mirits of my Blesed Saviour and Redemer
Christ Jesus and my Body to the earth from whence it was taken to be
buried in such decent and Christian Manner as to my Executor hereafter
named shall be thought fit and Convemant and as tuching such temperall
estate as the Lord in Mercy hath lent me my Will and meaning is the
same shall be Imployed and bestowed as by this my Will is Exspresed and
First I do Renownce Revoake Frustrate and make voide all former Wills
by me made and declare and Appoint this my Last Will and Testament
It
I give and bequeath to my Brother Christopher Preswick the tenan right
of the hous and closes which was my Unckle Thomas Preswick upon
condistion as followeth viz: that he shall enter upon the said house
and ground at the day of St Michell next following my decease he paying
then when he enters to my Executor the some of Fowrtene pounds of
corant moneis and if he refuse to pay the said some of fowrtene pounds
that then the said house and ground shall remaine in the hand and to
the use of my Executor during the rest of years unexspired and yet to
co.. of that lease granted by Sr Edward Challoner late deceast bering
date the 30th of November 1672 and then he shall Enter upon the said
house and ground without paying any thing to my Executor and further my
Will and Meaning is that if my brother Christopher Preswick depart this
life before he enter and be possest of the said house and grond that
then the same shall still be and remine to the use of my Executor or
his Assignes
It I give to my Brother Christopher Preswicke two Children that are nowe borne ten shillings to be eaqually betwix them
And
all the Rest of my goods and chattels movable and Immovable I give and
bequeath to my brother Oliver Preswick whom I make sole Executor of
this my Last will and Testament in witnes wherof I have herunto set my
hand and seale the day and yeare first above writen Tho Priswick
